This following images are sketch proofs (designs I sketch out before painting). I plan on using mix medium -- watercolor, acrylic and the yellow border will be gold leaf. I'm trying to explore a modern "illuminated manuscript" feel. I'm excited to branch out into a new style.
In this stage, I started to play with the shadows and lighting. I started with color, but branched into black and white.
